The Traddock Hotel is perfectly located for walking, with everything from a leisurely 15 minute stroll along the river to a very full day doing the 3 peaks challenge!

We have a wide range of guides, maps and walking options at the Hotel and can put together suitable walks for just about any requirement. The majority of our team have lived in this part of the dales for many years and can offer good advice and support when planning a day’s activity out in the hills around us.

The Traddock is a fabulous place to go walking from, with the whole of the Yorkshire Dales National Park at our door step and the Forest of Bowland – area of outstanding natural beauty just 1 mile away over the A65.

If you are looking for some good guides to the area we highly recommend “Walks in Limestone Country” by A. Wainwright or “Yorkshire Dales” by David Leather. Copies of these books are available for loan during your stay at The Traddock Hotel, please do ask!
