Congregations and events

Did you know...

Professor Lord Robert Winston attracted a record 600 people when he gave an Open lecture about the future of mankind.

The Congregations and Events team are responsible for centrally-organised university events, the most significant being the University graduation ceremonies, known as congregations, held in Canterbury and Rochester Cathedrals in July and November.

The team also run the Open lecture series.  These free, public lectures take place in Keynes College on Friday evenings. Most are followed by high table dinners, hosted by College Masters, for invited guests.

College events are coordinated by the team on behalf of the College Masters throughout the academic term.  These are open to college members and bookable through the Events team.

Congregations

Kent degree congregations and awards ceremonies are wonderful occasions for students and their families and friends to recognise and celebrate the successful completion of a degree or award.

The ceremonies are held in the magnificent settings of Canterbury and Rochester cathedrals.
