Dr. Slavin

Dr. Robert Slavin – Director of the Center for Research and Reform in Education at the School of Education – has begun a blog with Education Week titled Sputnik: Advancing Education Through Innovation and Evidence. In his blog, Dr. Slavin and various guests will discuss how educational policy can be informed by research and innovation and, in turn, promote development and evaluation of promising practices to improve outcomes for children.

Dr. Slavin earned his B.A. from Reed College in Portland, Oregon in Psychology and took his Ph.D. in Social Relations from Johns Hopkins. Since then he has grown to be one of the leading voices in evidence-based education working with the CRRE as well as serving as the Director for Data-Driven Reform in Education and the Chairman of the Success for All Foundation.
