The Work Center program offers ongoing contract piecework for all program participants interested in improving their work skills. The Douglas Center procures piecework contracts in partnerships with manufacturers, businesses and individuals in the Chicago metro area. Our program participants are trained and skilled in the areas of light manufacturing, sewing, packaging, assembly, shrink-wrapping, labeling, heat sealing, fulfillment services, etc. All work is carefully inspected by quality control specialists prior to each shipment.

The Douglas Center provides machine sewing training and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The Douglas Center, in partnership with the AbilityOne program has held sewing contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) in addition to an increasing number of sewing contracts of from the private sector.

The Work Center offers a variety of cost-effective services to businesses and individuals in the Chicago metro area.
