Where is Home Farm off Emmerdale?

Jul 222011

Emmerdale is filmed in various locations across Yorkshire, and sometimes elsewhere in the UK (if something special is happening). Emmerdale’s most famous location is Home Farm, which in real life is called Creskeld Hall.

I think it’s fair to say that Creskeld Hall is the poshest soap site ever! It’s a grade II listed building which has been owned by the same family since the early 1900s. The house sits in 3.5 acres of gardens which have rare colours of rhododendrons, a water garden and a monkey puzzle tree. As it’s a private house, you can’t go for a nosy, except for one day per year (usually in May) when the garden is open to the public as part of the National Gardens Scheme.

Creskeld Hall is located in Arthington, near Bramhope in West Yorkshire. Not heard of it? Me neither. The location is in fact a couple of miles from Leeds Bradford Airport. I wonder if the low flying planes interrupt filming?

Here is a map of Creskeld Hall.
