BMW
Faithful to its tradition of exploiting motor sport programmes to promote its road cars, BMW confirmed its presence in WTCC in which it clinched the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles for three consecutive years, from 2005 to 2007, always with Andy Priaulx.
In order to support the customer teams, in 2009 BMW Motorsport developed a kit to update the E90 320si cars to 320 TC, including the 1.6-litre turbo engine.

Chevrolet
Chevrolet joined WTCC from the very beginning, in 2005, with the Lacetti car. Performance on track of the Lacetti improved consistently since and Alain Menu scored Chevrolet's first victory at Brands Hatch in 2006.
After launching the Cruze in 2009, which earned six race wins during its first season, the Chevrolet team managed to win back-to-back Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles in 2010 and 2011. The latter using the new 1.6L turbo engine designed and developed by RML.
Ford
Ford's racing roots sink deeply in Touring Car competitions, as the cars with the Blue Oval have claimed a great deal of national and international titles since the Sixties, including two back-to-back FIA World Cups in 1993 and 1994.
Now, seven years after its only participation in a WTCC, back in 2005, the Ford brand returns to the World Championship with the new Focus S2000 run by Team AON, with the cooperation of Mountune Racing Engines that designed and developed the 1.6-litre turbo power plant.
SEAT
SEAT began racing in the FIA Touring Cars back in the 2003 European Championship with the Toledo Cupra that claimed it first WTCC victory with Rickard Rydell at Silverstone in 2005, just a few weeks before being replaced by the León.
The León made motorsport history, becoming the first turbo-diesel car to claim a world title, in 2008 with Yvan Muller and again in 2009 with Gabriele Tarquini. Seven years after its launch, the León is still competitive thanks to the new 1.6L turbo engine developed by SEAT Sport.
