Our site is aimed at English speakers the world over, who would like to see photos, pictures, and old postcard images of Poland; and to find out the most important and interesting information on the villages, towns and cities in the west of Poland. Wherever possible all our pages include at least one photograph of the location in question. Our library contains many thousands of high quality images, both contemporary and historic. Digital photographs of virtually anywhere in Poland are available on request for a small fee.

The Poland Poland website also combines photographs taken in different locations in Poland with practical no-nonsense advice and information on Polish culture and traditions. These subjects include: dining out in Poland; education in Poland; Polish railways; and Christmas in Poland; shopping in outdoor markets; art; nightclubs; and Polish jokes. In this way we hope not only to show the physical side of Poland, but also the cultural aspects of life in Poland. We also have sections for people looking for friends with an interest in Polish and/or Poland; and for expats in Poland, where visitors can find information on things like living and working and buying property in Poland. Most of the information and pictures on our site are of the former German territories now part of Poland. These parts of present-day Poland were - prior to the border changes agreed at the end of the first and second world wars - part of Prussia, Germany. These German states were known as Pomerania (Pommern), East Brandenburg, Posen, Grenzmark, Neumark, West Prussia and Lower Silesia; and are now Polish Provinces: Lubuskie, Wielkopolskie, Dolnoslaskie, Pomorskie and Zachodniopomorskie
