September - Archery Guided Elk Hunts

There are several New Mexico elk hunts during this time, each hunt being five days in duration with two hunters per guide and a maximum of four hunters per hunt to assure the best possible chances for success. Hunting Elk in New Mexico is at its best during this time! Bulls are bugling and the opportunity for a trophy bull of a lifetime is not uncommon.

The "RUT" begins in the first part of the season and is usually in full swing after the 10th of September. Bugling bulls can be heard throughout the archery season. If you love the sweet sound of the infamous Wapiti then this hunt is for you. Several 300" - 380" bulls are extremely vulnerable during this time of year.

A combination New Mexico Elk Hunts and deer hunts in New Mexico are possible during some archery hunts. Deer tags can be purchased over the counter upon arrival in some units. JACO Outfitters LLC can assist you with combo hunt arrangements and hunt details.

October - Rifle Elk Hunts:

October means rifle season for elk hunts, deer hunts in New Mexico and several hunts are available. The first elk hunt of the season begins the 1st week of October. This is an exceptional opportunity for taking trophy size bulls. Three public rifle elk hunts will be provided throughout the month of October and private land hunts run from Oct 1st through Dec 31st.

November means rifle season for mule deer in New Mexico. There are plenty of big bucks available; some units are on a draw basis only. Check with JACO Outfitters, LLC for particulars on available hunting options and openings.

Muzzleloader Elk Hunts:

Muzzleloader hunts are available from the first week in October through November. Bulls will be bugling well into the first part of October so if you're looking to take a bugling bull with a primitive weapon, this is the hunt for you.

Other Wild Game:

JACO Outfitters LLC can assist you with arrangements for other hunts for antelope, bear, sheep, cougar and wild Merriam's turkey. Please contact JACO Outfitters LLC for seasons and possible openings.
