Pensacola Futures Championship to be held at Roger Scott Tennis Center

The Pensacola Sports Association and the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department, with the assistance of the Escambia County Tourist Development Council, will host the 2nd Annual Pensacola Futures Championship to be held November 4-13 at the Roger Scott Tennis Center.

USTA Pro Circuit Tennis Event Begins November 4th

PENSACOLA, Fla. – October 18, 2011 – The Pensacola Sports Association and the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department, with the assistance of the Escambia County Tourist Development Council, will host the 2nd Annual Pensacola Futures Championship to be held November 4-13 at the Roger Scott Tennis Center. The USTA Pro Circuit features world-class tennis played on local tennis courts in support of communities nationwide.
A Wild Card Event will be held November 1-3 at the Roger Scott Tennis Center with the winner advancing on to play in the Main Draw for the $10,000 purse.

The Qualifier begins Friday, November 4 and is free and open to the public. Players successful in the qualifier will advance to the main draw. Main Draw play runs November 8-13 at the Roger Scott Tennis Center with 32 singles and a 16 doubles team draw. Daily ticket prices for the Main Draw are $5 and discounted weekly passes are $25 or $50 for a package of four weekly passes. Kids ages 12 years and younger are free.

“This world-class tennis tournament offers Pensacola and our entire region the opportunity to experience the excitement and intensity of the future stars of the professional game from around the world offering a $10,000 purse,” said executive director of the Pensacola Sports Association, Ray Palmer. “We are honored that the USTA has once again selected Pensacola for this tournament.”

Roger Scott Tennis Center is located at 2130 Summit Boulevard, in Pensacola. On-site catering will be provided by Scenic 90 Café and Nancy’s Haute Affairs. Tickets and sponsorships are available through the Pensacola Sports Association. For more information, contact Ray Palmer at (850) 434-2800.
