When completing your online donation, make sure to select Samaritan House for your shipping address. Also, we encourage you to check the Ordering a gift box at the bottom of the shipping options page. On the next page, enter your name and email (or other contact information) in the text box that says Enter your free gift note for this item here. If you choose not to enter your contact information, your donation will be anonymous.

If you prefer, you can always deliver donations to Samaritan House directly. Below you will find a full list of our current needs. We accept donations during office hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-12pm & 1pm-5pm) at our location at 4031 Pacific Blvd. in San Mateo. Food donations may be delivered to the kitchen on the 1st floor. All other donations are gladly accepted at the administrative office on the 3rd floor.

  • After-school healthy snacks- granola bars, cheese sticks, fruit cups, etc.
  • Dried pinto beans
  • Sugar free foods (for diabetics)

  • Cooking oil, sandwich bags, lunch bags

Safe Harbor Shelter:

  • Bath towels (new or gently used)
  • Twin sheets (new or gently used)
  • Blankets

  • Backpacks
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • NEW underwear, socks
  • Warm clothing (e.g., jackets, gloves, scarves, hats, etc.)
  • Rain gear (e.g., umbrellas, rain coats, rain ponchos, etc.)
  • Any adult size clothing
  • Travel size: shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, mens/womens disposable razors
  • Band-aides
  • Shaving cream

  • Household Items (e.g., irons, toasters, microwaves, etc.)
  • Volunteer services needed: haircuts, bicycle repairs, resume writing assistance, hosting or sponsoring fun events (e.g., bingo, holiday parties, special dinners, etc.)
  • Food that can be cooked without kitchen facilities
  • Special diet foods (e.g., Glucerna, Ensure, oatmeal, low sodium soups, etc.)
  • Miscellaneous: gift certificates, phone cards, can openers, water bottles, office supplies, movies

Create a backpack for a young student! Here is a list of items to include in a backpack:
