Our Mission

The Center for Morality in Public Life (CFMPL) provides a forum for engaging and discussing issues that affect human flourishing and the common good. By sponsoring events and publications, and by producing relevant content, we put today’s top scholars in touch with students and professionals, asking tough questions about the meaning of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

We believe firmly that strong morals are integral to forming strong citizens. To that end, we work to educate the public on the significance of morality in public life, education, and the home.

CFMPL offers a platform for current and emerging authors and scholars to collaborate in a professional environment, and to advance pertinent considerations on matters concerning the status and role of persons and ethics in society, and the centrality of the common good in public life.

Why ‘Center for Morality in Public Life’?

Integral to our mission is the belief that each person in a society participates in a form of public life. Moreover, we believe that individual moral convictions are reflected—through this role—in the morality of society, at large. Our mission is to affect the moral trajectory of civil society at the most basic level, i.e., at the level of individual citizens.
