spacer

We are proud to announce that the German FlightXPress magazine was kind enough to grant the Concorde-X for FSX their Gold Award for Excellence!

They’ve now published their review online, feel free to read it here (in German). Here’s some (translated) bits of what their reviewer had to say:

The Concorde is one of today’s most advanced aircraft for the flight simulator. The system depth and beautiful graphics make it one of the best aircraft I have ever seen, she is definitely fit into the league of PMDG and Project Tupolev and occasionally even surpasses this…

…Flight Sim Labs have made in a deserved and dignified monument to the Concorde, which will still receive for many years the magic of this fantastic aircraft. Andrew Wilson and the entire team deserve our respect and gratitude of the entire Concorde fans.”

spacer Concorde-X FSVisions review now available (in Dutch)

spacer May 23rd, 2010
spacer

The Dutch site FSVisions posted a very comprehensive review of the Concorde-X. Angelique Van Campen, also known for her work as senior staff reviewer for AVSIM, .

While the review is in Dutch, we can trust the Google translator to read a bit of what Angelique had to say:

…I argue that the VC has stolen my heart but it’s not only because there is also an abridged virtual cabin. Writing deliberately simplified virtual cabin because the front edge of the cabin is simulated. Notable are the small cabin windows and striking an information board for the passengers, among others, which displays altitude and speed…

…It is useful to note that the tutorial has a lot of additional information and is is therefore almost a POH (Pilot’s Operating Handbook). It is clearly defined what and when to do something. In the Concorde, try not to use your head, because that is all too real for simulation – or in other words, to perfection!

…I notice the sounds of buttons, knobs and switches are very realistic. For example, when using the AFCS (Auto Flight Control System) and select a new altitude, you could close your eyes while you turn the knob, it really sounds just like the real Concorde…

If you’re a Dutch reader, go straight to FSVisions to read all Angelique has to say about the Concorde! – Thank you Angelique, for this very thorough review!

spacer Concorde-X wins four Gold Stars at Flight Simulator X World!

spacer May 21st, 2010
spacer

FlightSimulatorXWorld reviewed the Concorde-X on their web site, giving it their maximum four gold stars and rating it as a “Must Have”.

Here’s some tidbits from what Lars and Ole had to say in their review:

I was sure, when I first got this aircraft for reviewing, that I would use it for the review, but probably not much more, as I like the ease and calm of the slower planes in FSX. It relaxes me, and the idea of a plane flying a close to Mach 2, just didn’t feel like something I would like too much. But I have changed my mind. Not because of the speed, but in spite of the speed. The plane is beautiful, and the systems, animations, and possibilities are just too good to not use. Yes, Lars, the Concorde finally found its way into FSX, and it did it, not with a whimper, but with a bang. Just like the real world Concorde always made an impression, so does this version from Flight Sim Labs”.

Thank you, FlightSimulatorXWorld, for your very thorough and accurate review!

spacer Concorde-X wins Golden Wings Award

spacer April 21st, 2010
spacer

British Airways Virtual reviewed the Concorde-X for FSX in their April “Airways“ magazine issue, giving it their Golden Wings Award for its attention to detail and realism.

Here’s an excerpt from the review:

“Flight Sim Labs have created a model which is detailed and realistic. The sleek curves of Concorde are expertly modeled to allow the Pilot to experience the visual beauty of this most unique of all aircraft within FSX.

All the systems are there for an immersive experience in operating Concorde X like the pro’s. Along with the true-to life sounds, in the VC the Virtual Pilot can have the experience of virtually “being there.”

With realistic flight dynamics, learning to fly Concorde has never been as complex or as enjoyable within MSFS. Even the novice can enjoy learning on this aircraft due to the
helpful Virtual Flight Engineer.

For the complexity and attention to detail shown on Concorde-X, it really is good value for money and Flight Sim Labs have made a high-end add-on as good as, if not slightly better than, anything else available today.

Concorde-X is a must for all Virtual Pilots”.
