Academy's Head of Coaching Dan Micciche referred to his youngsters' first trip abroad as 'very beneficial' after they finished as runners-up in the Knossos Cup, losing out to AEK Athens.
In temperatures reaching 36°C, the Under 15s were beaten 3-0 by the Greek giants at the impressive Theodoros Vardinogiannis stadium, to lose only their second game of the tournament.
Despite the Cup final defeat, their coach was pleased with the player's development, not only as footballers, but as individuals.

Speaking to mkdons.com: "It was excellent to be invited as many of our young players hadn't experienced tournament football abroad before.
"The social aspect of the trip was very beneficial and it was a great opportunity for us to see how the players cope with demands of tournament football, such as being away from home for almost a week."
Giorgio Rasulo (pictured above) picked up the Top Goalscorer award after netting six in as many games, but Dan was happy with how all of his players adapted to challenge of playing abroad.
"The football development aspect of the trip was really good as they had to learn and adapt to playing against different European teams and styles, as well as making good decisions based on the state of the game."
MK Dons have already been invited back to compete in next year's tournament.
