About Nut Press

spacer Hello! I’m Kathryn Eastman and I’m a writer. The NUT Press is my online home.

About Me

I was born in Germany to a Welsh father and a Scottish mother, so that makes me confused/Celtic/British/still unable to speak fluent German.  I’ve lived in England, Germany, Greece and the United States and am currently based in south Wales, U.K.  In a previous life, I was an IP lawyer and a Director and Company Secretary for an ISP. I now work as an EFL tutor and have been writing since 2003. I have written articles, poems and short stories, some of which have been published in journals, magazines and newspapers. You can read a sample on this site. I’m currently working on my second novel while I try to find the first one a good home.

About this site

I have a range of interests, so at some point you’ll no doubt read something about books, both reading and writing them; chocolate; writing news, competitions, events and prizes; chocolate; the writing life; squirrels; chocolate; music and photography, but other random topics might crop up in the mix.

I review books for the publisher, Choc Lit, and other books that I simply enjoy reading and want to tell you about.

Why’s it called the NUT Press?  Well, I’m lucky enough to have a squirrel muse (I know! Don’t you wish you were me?) but, more often than not, he is more of a hindrance.  His name’s Squizzey and he reckons that he supervises my writing.  If you’d like to check him out,  he has his own blog: SquizzBlog or you can follow him on Twitter or Facebook.  Anyway, the NUT Press seemed an obvious choice for a number of reasons and it’s my blog so that’s what I’m calling it.

So, thanks for stopping by, subscribe to and/or bookmark the site, keep reading and I would love to hear from you if you have any comments, and watch this space!

    Hi Kath,

Send me your email address and I will let you know where I go! It’s the only place in the world that de-stresses me. My ring helps in this country!

    Best wishes

I love having discovered you. I write historical fiction, began a PhD at a London University, transferred it to MPhL and love , for better or worse, many of Sir Walter Scott’s works. He features in my writing reflective work for MPhL. Also, I believe I am part German too and part Scottish for absolute sure as many times ggg grand papa was Cpt in Scotts Greys, won a family crest and land in Ireland as reward for 17th C Marlborough Wars in Europe. So how is this for romance? Mother was a Henning. So, email me sometime. love, Carol

Welcome to The Nut Press, online home of writer Kathryn Eastman. What will you find here? Book reviews, chocolate tasting, adventures with squirrels, a lot of tea drinking, and a snoring pussy cat, among other things. Oh, and very occasionally, some writing gets done.
