A group of IT-entrepreneurs in Malmö has started the "Mixtra" initiative in Malmö, a movement aimed at making school children between 12 and 15 years old interested in computer programming. Mixtra has visited 5 schools mainly in the outskirts of Malmö this spring. The format is as following: first some presentations of people working as IT-entrepreneurs, telling the youth what it is like working in that area. Then a hands on exercise where the children have had the chance to try programming. I was leading an Arduino workshop with a group of 14-15 year olds at one of these occasions.
