Events scheduled for Friday, July 6, 2012:

  • 6:30-8:30 Concert – Eric Scott. The Recovery Center is featuring WAMMIE award-winning musician, Eric Scott, whose music blurs the lines of neo-soul, pop, funk, rock and even gospel. Recently named DC's Best Urban Contemporary Instrumentalist and Best Urban Contemporary Male Vocalist, Eric has now won seven WAMMIES by the Washington Area Music Association.

  • spacer 6:30-8:30 Electric Cello. Sona Bank is featuring cellist, Wytold performing six-string electric cello rock-orchestral arrangements with progressive world rhythms and joined by Bryan Bowman and Jerry Tolk on percussion. A "Strathmore's Artists in Residence", Wytold's two extra strings on his bodyless, shoulder-strapped electric cello allows him to capture the depth and power of a stand-up bass, the rich tonal timbre of an acoustic cello, and the bright crispness of violin solos. His first solo album "When Fulvio Finds Celeste" received international airtime on European and Australian radio. Refreshments served.

  • 7:00-9:00 Concert - Cindy McConnell. The Pink Shop is featuring acoustic guitarist, Cindy McConnell, who has been performing acoustic folk/rock covers for the past 10 years in Northern Virginia coffee houses, pubs and wineries, such as Tarara, Casanel and Willowcroft. She happily donates tips from her music performances to "Virginia Greyhound Adoption."

  • 6:00-9:00 Pottery, Music, Wine & Chocolate. The Cooley Gallery features pottery, paintings, photography by Washington Redskins tight-end Chris Cooley and other locally acclaimed artists. Also, live music by "Joey and the Waitress," a local alternative acoustic band. Plus, wine tasting by a Three Fox Vineyards and chocolate tasting with MC2 Confections.

  • 7:00-9:00 Singer, Emily Guagliardi. Savannah's of Leesburg is featuring guitarist and singer, Emily Guagliardi, singing her own original folksy, indie style songs, along with some cool cover tunes.

  • spacer 6:30-8:30 Singer, Dani Degooyer. Caulkins Jewelers is hosting live music with singer/guitarist, Dani DeGooyer, playing acoustic rock covers along with some of her own original songs. Dani is a 2011 graduate of Stone Bridge High School and is currently working on her first album.

  • 6:00-9:00 Live Music & Art. King Street Coffee is featuring an outdoor concert by local musicians, Gary Rudinsky and Friends. The coffee shop's "artists of the month" is Nathaniel Williams, with his oil landscapes which will be on display until the end of July.

  • 6:00-9:00 Wine Tasting. The Leesburg Vintner is hosting a wine tasting event from their collection of wines from around the world.

  • 7:00-9:00 Joseph Keith. Blue Mountain Cafe, a new Jamaican restaurant in downtown, is hosting live music with singer/guitarist, Joseph Keith performing an array of modern rock tunes.

  • 6:30-8:30 Singer, Milton Herd. Downs and Company is hosting live music by singer/guitarist, Milt Herd performing country, folk, bluegrass and the occasional light rock tunes.

  • 6:00-9:00 iPhone Show with Music. Photoworks is featuring a fun photography exhibit by Eric Brown entitled "More iPhonegraphy." Come check out the wide array of his unique photographs on display throughout the gallery. Also hosting live music by singer/guitarist, Maggie Anderson, who graduated from Potomac Falls in 2010 and is now a student at JMU.

  • 6:00-8:00 Artists at Work & Story Telling. The Leesburg Arts and Cultural District is hosting "Loudoun Artists at Work," featuring local artists painting and demonstrating how they make their art. Also, featuring a storyteller from the Curtains Up Theatre Company, spinning exciting tales in the tradition of storytelling from the past.

  • 6:00-9:00 Book Signing. Books and Other Found Things is featuring a book signing event with the author, Robert Brent, who wrote "Bolt Clan," which is a new Si-Fi book and the first in a series.

  • 6:00-9:00 Wine Tasting and Jewelry. The Loudoun County Visitors Center is hosting a wine tasting event with Hidden Brook Winery and jewelry artist, Paula Bannerman.

  • spacer 7:00-9:00 Nathaniel Davis. MacDowell Brew Kitchen, is featuring the Nathaniel Davis Band, whose music is best described as indie-folk rock with a strong bluesy influence. They play an eclectic mix of original music along with some fun, clever re-imaginations of well known covers of pop and rock songs.

  • 7:00-9:00 Acoustic Rock. Designer Goldsmith is hosting live music by Lydia Lewis Jazz Trio," which is an instrumental jazz group that performs mostly straight ahead jazz, with a mixture of swing, latin and funk.

  • 7:30-10:00 David Davol. Doener Bistro is hosting acoustic guitarist/singer, David Davol, highlighting the Folk-Rock style of the 60's and 70's. He also performs selections of modern Country and Western music, as well as Rock and Alternative tunes. Pick your favorite hits from his 400 song request list.

  • spacer 6:30-8:30 Bluegrass Music. Morningside House of Leesburg is hosting a bluegrass jam with their own "Morningside Bluegrass Band" playing some classic bluegrass tunes along with folk songs.

  • 6:00-7:00 Free Yoga Lesson. Flow Yoga is offering a FREE fun-filled yoga practice, which is open to all experience levels.

  • 6:00-8:00 Wine Tasting. L Gifts & Home Furnishings is hosting a wine tasting event with il Pioppo Wines and featuring their "Summer White."

  • 6:30-8:30 Art and Music. Stockman Title and Escrow is featuring live music by guitarist/singer, Jonathan Deluca along with the artwork of locally acclaimed artist, Ruby Gulin Lambert, which will be on display. Light refreshments will also be offered.

  • 7:00-9:00 Classical Music. The Old Town Grill is featuring a classical concert by Trinity Strings, which is a string ensemble that is primarily comprised of members of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Leesburg. Formed in 2009, they have three violinists, a violist, two cellos, and feature a popular mix of classical music, hymns, and folk tunes.

  • 6:30-9:30 Hard Swimmin' Fish. The Cajun Experience is featuring live music with the blues trio, The Hard Swimmin' Fish, playing a range of styles covering the country blues of Mississippi and The Piedmont, the urban blues of Chicago, and funk infused varieties with roots in New Orleans' second line. The juxtaposition of old and new is also evident in both the band members and their play-list.

  • spacer 6:00-8:30 Andy Hawk's Acoustic Trio. King's Court Tavern is hosting locally acclaimed Andy Hawk and his acoustic trio, consisting of musical virtuoso, Steve DeVries (mandolin, harmonica, guitar, harmony, banjo, piano) and Chuck Bordelon (bass, guitar).

  • 7:00 Virginia's 8th Infantry. The Loudoun Museum is featuring a lecture by David Purschwitz regarding the Eighth Virginia Infantry, then and now. He will have original items from the Civil War unit on display and will be dressed in an authentic uniform as he speaks about the companies of the Eighth Virginia, which were raised in Leesburg. Admission $5 (free to museum members).

  • 6:00-9:00 Art Open House. Medlin Art Gallery is exhibiting a large selection of antique prints, maps and original artwork from such nationally-known artists as Mort Kunstler, Mary Hope Worley, Paul Landry, John Paul Strain, and P. Buckley Moss. Refreshments served.

  • 6:30-9:00 Funky Art. The Night Gallery is featuring an exhibit by artist, Kevin Dunn of unusual "edgy" art, often with a message about society. Stop by to check out this funky new addition to Leesburg's art scene.

  • 6:00-9:00 All-Natural. Cultured is hosting a cool celebration featuring their gourmet all natural yogurts and soups. Stop by for a free sample of their "real frozen yogurt," which is made from wholesome local ingredients, so it's naturally tart and absolutely delicious!

  • 6:00-9:00 Open House. The Rose Manor is featuring a "Beauty Tips" open house event with Mary Kay Cosmetics and an array of hand-made floral arrangements. Light refreshments served.

  • 6:00-9:00 First Friday for Dogs. The Reign of Cats & Dogs is hosting a fun place for dogs to visit while at First Friday, complete with "Doggie Treats" for man's best friend. If you happen to bring your four-legged friend to First Friday, be sure to stop by.

  • 6:00-9:00 Chicago Happy Hour. Windy City Red Hots is celebrating a "Chicago Happy Hour," in downtown Leesburg with half price cold beers. Stop by to get a quick bite of Chicago, without traveling 700 miles.

  • 6:00-8:00 Triathlon Clinic. Transition Triathlon, which offers a comprehensive array of gear for swim, bike and run, is hosting a free Introduction to Triathlon clinic. Come learn about getting into the sport - how to pick a race, what are the various distances, what gear you need. We'll answer these and other commonly asked questions to get you motivated.   • spacer 6:00-9:00 Art Exhibit. The Leesburg Commission on Public Art is hosting an exhibit of work by photographer, J. Riley Stewart, which will be on display in the Town's Exhibit Hall on the first floor through July 21st. He specializes in landscape photography and offers scenic that provide the viewer a sense of "standing at the bottom edge of the frame, only having to take one step to find themselves in the midst of the beauty - or the danger, as the case may be."

  • 7:00-9:00 Jan and Jeff. Carter Braxton Real Estate is hosting live music with the popular guitar duo, Jan & Jeff, performing from their wide repertoire of songs, from classic rock to contemporary to bluegrass and old standards.
