Right-Wing Extremism

Writing for the LSE’s EUROPP blog in June, ISD Research Director Rachel Briggs and Dr Matthew Goodwin explore the factors that drive individuals to right-wing extremism and, in some cases, on to violence.

Lord Weidenfeld honoured

ISD's President, Lord Weidenfeld, was presented with a 'Tolerance Rings' award by the City of Frankfurt and the European Academy of Science and the Arts (EASA) on 12 June at St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt.

Weidenfeld Scholarships

In late June, the Institute's Weidenfeld Scholars visited London for a two-day programme of  panel discussions on leadership; events with alumni, trustees and supporters; and a range of cultural activities.

Nothing Holy About Hatred

This campaign, supported by Phoenix and part of ISD’s ‘Social Media and Intolerance’ project, is  bringing together people of all faiths and none who believe hatred and homophobia have no place within society.

UANI-ISD Initiative

May saw the launch of the UANI-ISD Initiative, a transatlantic partnership between ISD and the US organisation United Against Nuclear Iran, dedicated to combating the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran.

Against Violent Extremism

Launched in New York in April, Against Violent Extremism (AVE) is a global network of former violent extremists, survivors, activists, policy makers and business people united  to counter violent extremism.
