did know Andy
like
he was kin
and the fictional
town of Mayberry
so real
we did live there,
didnt we?
sometimes
we lived inside
the Brady home
or aboard
the
starship Enterprise
but Mayberrys
where
you want to settle
in
with a nice girl
in a summer
dress
(in my case,
a California blonde)
sitting
on the porch
with maybe
apple pie
or
cherry
a little
cup of moonshine
or coffee
and taking the time
to learn
to play a real
wood guitar
and sing
all those
old
songs
of America.

OTTER
POPS!
Amber Kloss is a great comedienne, model, and retro fan who
shot a bunch of super fun Otter Pop themed photos with me back in 2004. We
shot these at her old apartment in downtown Sacramento and it was so full
of retro goodies and decoration, all I had to bring was Otter Pops and a
camera. How many gals actually have a dress in their closet to match every
Otter Pop flavor? They were on retroCRUSH for a while and mysteriously
disappeared during a server migration, so you can imagine how thrilled I
was to stumble on a backup CD with these on them today!

FUNNY FACE PUNCH RETURNS (SORT OF)
Long forgotten Funny Face Punch has returned in the form of...Flavored
Cranberries? I found this alongside other classic flavor characters of
Choo Choo Cherry and Rootin Tootin Raspberry at a Sacramento, California
Save Mart store today.
Funny Face was big in the '60s and '70s and were notorious for having
racist characters including "Chinese Cherry" and "Injun Orange" (pictured
above with their revised versions to the left). They have an official

SURVEY SAYS: RICHARD DAWSON WAS ONE OF THE BEST GAME SHOW HOSTS
EVER!
I was sad to see Richard Dawson had passed away today. From his role
as Newkirk in "Hogan's Heroes", to a consistently funny presence on
"The Match Game", to one of the all time greatest game show hosts
with his 10 year stint on "Family Feud", Dawson was a unique and
charming presence that has sorely been missed on TV.
Back in 2006, we published a fun feature on the 30 Greatest Game Show
Hosts of All Time, and Mr. Dawson ranked #3 only behind Bob Barker
and Gene Rayburn.

I may have written this story a few years agoI dont
remember. So if youve read it before, just shut up and read it
againits pretty good.
In the early '90s there was a shoe company named Airwalk. They made
skateboard shoes, for the most part. They also made these awesome
suede desert boots, and I absolutely loved them. Aside from the fact
that they were well made and I thought they looked cool, they were
also extremely comfortablesomething that I rarely find as a guy with
flat feet.
