Just in time for the end of the summer festival series, Harmonix announced today that Rock Band Blitz will take the stage on August 29.
The XBLA release is a controller based action game with elements of the studio's own Amplitude and Frequency games that create a rhythm action experience. Rock Band Blitz will work with all DLC from the Rock Band series, giving access to a sprawling jukebox that numbers in the thousands. That digital song osmosis also flows both ways, allowing you to import songs from Blitz into Rock Band 3.
Four songs, including "Sing" by My Chemical Romance, "Jungle Boogie" by Kool & the Gang and "So Far Away" by Avenged Sevenfold were also announced to be joining the game's 25 song tracklist. For maximum authenticity for the last song announced, Fun.'s "We Are Young," consider looping it on repeat for the rest of the summer.
Tickets to Rock Band Blitz will run 1200 Microsoft points.
