Burger King GarageBand Files Let You Mix it Your Way
February 10, 2006
via Axehole: Burger King has released 81MB of GarageBand files as part of its Whopperettes promotion. The Whopperettes are showgirls in food outfits that do a Busby Berkeley-esque production number in BK’s recent advertisements.
Releasing source files that can easily be remixed lets anyone with a Mac use and abuse the music in creative ways.
Burger King did not include any licensing information in the download. It would be beneficial to podcasters and remixers if licensing was included with downloads of this sort, letting people know specifically how the source files could be used.
Because Burger King is publishing easily editable source files, though, it's likely that they intend the music to be remixed and shared for non-commercial purposes.
The Garageband files are available in the Bonus Material section of the Whopperettes site.
