“New York City has a long and inebriating past as a brewing city. This exhibit not only examines the history (both technological and social) of beer brewing and drinking, but offers thirsty patrons a literal taste of its evolution. Explore ales, porters, and beer from the 17th century to the present, learning about innovations like clean, distilled water (novel!), bottling, and refrigeration, and setbacks including early taxation and of course, Prohibition. Cap it off with a quaff in the adjoining beer hall, featuring current New York State artisanal brews.”
