New York Times: Blargon. Somebody needs to fact-check his ass, because I fear that the echo chamber is likely to repeat this nonsense. Peter Merholz will tell you that blog is short for weblog, and if you could find him, Jorn Barger could tell you that a weblog is not the same as a web log. Ping wasn't an acronym in 1983, and it still isn't today. While we're at it, let's take the buggy etymologist out and shoot him (er, too much Sopranos again) for providing bad definitions.
