UBM is a global live media and B2B communications, marketing service and data provider. We help companies make connections, communicate their proposition and do business effectively.

UBM operates in five main business segments:

Events

UBM is the world’s second largest ‘pure play’ event organiser. We organise tradeshows and other live ‘in person’ events which enable communities to do business. Revenues are generated by exhibitors purchasing space at our tradeshows, through event sponsorship and, at some of our events, through attendee entrance fees.

PR Newswire 

Our PR Newswire business provides communications products and services to professionals working in marketing, public relations, corporate communications or investor relations roles. As well as distributing our clients’ messages and information, PR Newswire also helps identify target audiences and monitors how effectively customers’ messages have been communicated.

Data Services

We provide data and information products which professionals use to support their decision-making and day-to-day business activities. We aim to create unique, market-leading data sets that can be utilised by multiple end users in specific sectors. These products are usually paid for by annual subscriptions. We also generate revenue through listing fees, consulting, content and training services as well as through advertising and marketing support.

Marketing Services - Online 

We execute campaigns on behalf of clients looking to enhance their branding, customer awareness, reach and engagement or to generate sales leads. We offer our clients measurable return on investment and high audience engagement. Revenues are generated through advertising (such as website banner ads), lead generation services and, increasingly, through virtual events and through building and managing community websites on behalf of clients.

Marketing Services - Print

We publish more than 100 print titles which provide clients with a more traditional advertising platform. The majority of our titles are controlled circulation magazines which continue to play an important role in serving specific professional and commercial communities. We have seen growing cross-over with online marketing services as clients seek an integrated marketing approach and as publications migrate online. UBM is managing its print business towards a focused portfolio of leading titles.
