Ekiga

The development of Ekiga is going well. My patches for SIP/SIMPLE support are nearly ready to go in CVS, and the WIN32 port is also in very good shape. You can see below a screenshot of Ekiga running on Windows 2000 (sorry, I don’t have better), ready to take calls with an USB headset and supporting SIP Presence through Ekiga.net.

Notice the last category (IPBX NOVACOM), it contains all contacts registered to our IPBX at NOVACOM. Using this list I can simply call anyone, and see if they are already in a call or not. The only thing we need is better icons.

svu: We have another champion here on Ubuntu Edgy, I think I will offer a drink to the 150th user who will report this bug with an unuseful backtrace.

The SusE 10.1 version of opal doesn’t download.

Does the next version auf Ekiga support soundservers like gstreamer or arts?

Nice to see Windows version running. Awesome. Shame GTK fits very poorly on Windows desktop, it acts differently and looks different.. GTK-Wimp would require MAJOR fixing nowadays spacer

Gstreamer is not soundserver. Esd will be replaced soon. Arts is unmaintained and will be killed completely very very soon. Time will show, most likely Damien&co will support the upcoming new Gnome multimedia backend…

    *sigh*

This Crash-On-Exit-bug for Ubuntu really pisses me off. I didn’t count, but I guess we have about 100 dups so far. I hope the patch for Gnome-VFS fixes it.
IMHOI thought Gentoo was bad, but it seems Ububntu (Edgy) is even worse (not the distro, the management).

Is there documentation on how to configure Ekiga to work with Asterisk? Thanks.

Does anyone have Ekiga for Windows XP Pro SP2 running? It doesn’t seem to work for me, upon trying to lunch ekiga.exe I get:

    AppName: ekiga.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: libgtk-win32-2.0-0.dll
    ModVer: 2.10.6.0 Offset: 002217a2

    Thanks.
