The international community for the Python programming language holds several conferences each year (listed alphabetically):

Many of these circulate between different sites and most rely upon volunteers from the community to make them happen.

These Python conferences bring together developers, application designers and business people in the international Python communities. You will meet people who have just begun their journey into this world, as well as the people who started it all.

You can expect to to enjoy inspirational talks and a friendly atmosphere, designed to help people build contacts and learn from each others' experiences. You will meet interesting people and have a pleasant time.

PyCon 2012 was held in Santa Clara, California, USA, from March 7th to 15th. PyCon 2010 and 2011 were in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, with over 1400 people attending 2011. PyCon 2008 & 2009 were in Chicago, Illinois. Over 900 people attended in 2009, and over 1000 in 2008. PyCon 2006 & 2007 were held in Dallas, Texas. Washington DC hosted PyCon 2003, 2004, & 2005.


EuroPython 2012 will be in Florence, Italy. EuroPython 2011 was held in Florence, Italy. EuroPython 2009 and 2010 were held in Birmingham, UK. EuroPython started in Charleroi, Belgium, in 2002 and 2003, moved on to Gothenburg, Sweden, for 2004 and 2005, was held at CERN in Swizerland in 2006, and moved to Vilnius, Lithuania in 2007 & 2008. It was the first major Python conference entirely organized by volunteers from the community.


PyCon Philippines 2012 will be held in Manila, Philippines, from June 30 to July 1, organized by the Philippine Python User Group.


PyCon China 2011 was held in Shanghai, China, on December 3rd and 4th 2011. This was the first PyCon in China, with an expected number of 300 attendees.


PyCon Taiwan 2012 will be held Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, on June 9th and 10th.


PyCon JP 2011 was held in Tokyo, on August 27.


PyCon DE 2012 will again be held in Leipzig, Germany, from Oct 29th to Nov 3rd. The first PyCon DE, was held in Leipzig, Germany, 2011.


PyCon Argentina 2009 was held in Buenos Aires, on September 4th and 5th.


The 7th edition of PythonBrasil was held in So Paulo in 2011. Previous editions happened in Curitiba (2010), Caxias do Sul (2009), Rio de Janeiro (2008), Joinville (2007), Braslia (2006) and Campinas (2005).


Pycon India 2009 was held in Bangalore, India, on Saturday, 26th September and Sunday, 27th September.


Kiwi PyCon 2010 took take place on November 20 & 21 in Waitangi, New Zealand.


The first edition of the PyCon PL (Poland) conference was held in Rybnik on October 18 & 19, 2008. PyCon PL 2009 will be held in Ustroล„, October 16-18 2009.


PyCon UK held its first conference on September 8-9, 2007 at the Birmingham Conservatoire. PyCon UK 2008 was also held there on September 12 through the 14.
