The Wisconsin Clearinghouse for
Missing and Exploited Children and Adults serves
as a resource for both law enforcement and
families in investigating cases involving
missing and abducted children and adults.
The Wisconsin Clearinghouse works in conjunction
with the
National Center for Missing and Exploited
Children, and forms part of a nationwide
network that works to reunite missing and
abducted children and adults with their
families. The
Clearinghouse also participates in Wisconsin's
Amber Alert Plan in an effort enhance law
enforcement's ability to respond effectively and
efficiently when a child has been abducted in
the hope of preventing the victimization of
children in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Amber Alert
Plan is a collaborative effort between the
Department of Justice, the Wisconsin
Broadcasters Association, Wisconsin Public
Radio, the Dane County Public Safety
Communication Center, the Wisconsin Educational
Communications Board, the Department of
Transportation, the Wisconsin State Emergency
Communications System, and local law enforcement
agencies.
