NYPD To Provide ‘Coverage’ At Theaters Showing Dark Knight Rises
In the aftermath of the today’s shooting in Colorado, at a screening of The Dark Knight Rises, the New York Police Department said it will be providing “coverage” at theaters showing the film.
Per CBS News, NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said the coverage comes as a precaution:
#NYPD to provide “coverage” at theaters where “Dark Knight Rises” is showing “as a precaution against copycats,” per Cmsr Kelly

CBS News’ Tony Aiello noted the that Kelly “is said to be tight with” Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates:

If New York City didn’t have gun control laws as they don’t in paramilitary nutcase paradises like Colorado, there would one and maybe two orders of magnitude (that’s 10 to 100 times for the uneducated) more shooting and gun deaths.
