Help Topic: Badges, Reputation and Rewards
Badges
The more active you are in the O'Reilly community the more badges you can acquire. The list below describes all of the badges and how to earn them. Some badges come with bonus points mentioned below. If you think you've earned one of the badges but you don't see it on your profile please contact us at answers@oreilly.com. Peacock Members who have uploaded their photo and completed the "About Me" section of their profile. Peacocks are beautiful and masters at drawing attention to themselves. Bonus: Members with this badge receive 25 reputation points. Bee Members who post an average of 3 posts/week or more. Bees are busy, determined, and industrious. Bee pollination is critical to a stable and sustainable ecosystem. Porcupine Members who vote posts down more often than up. Porcupine quills can sting, but their negative energy helps filter answers to everyone's benefit. O'Reilly Author Members who have published a book with O'Reilly are awarded the Author badge. Bonus: Members with this badge receive 1000 reputation points. O'Reilly Editor Employees of O'Reilly who work in our editorial team. Bonus: Members with this badge receive 1000 reputation points. Blogger Members who blog on oreilly.com or participate in our Blogger Review Program are awarded the Blogger badge. Bonus: Members with this badge receive 100 reputation points. Conference Speaker Members who have spoken at an O'Reilly conference are awarded the Conference Speaker badge. Bonus: Members with this badge receive 500 reputation points. User Group Leader Members who lead a User Group that is part of the O'Reilly User Group Program are awarded the User Group Leader badge. Bonus: Members with this badge receive 100 reputation points. Foo Members who have attended one of our invitation-only Foo Camp events are awarded the Foo badge. Bonus: Members with this badge receive 1000 reputation points. Ignite Participant Members who have coordinated or presented at one of our Ignite events are awarded the Ignite Participant badge. Bonus: Members with this badge receive 100 reputation points. Answers Early Bird Members who participated in the O'Reilly Answers beta. Reputation In addition, every community member will have one badge that indicates your current reputation level in the community. Reputation points are earned as other community members vote up your answers.
Rewards Redeem the reputation points you've earned from participating in O'Reilly Answers for O'Reilly ebooks, videos, courses, and conferences. You can find your total points on your profile page under your photo. The following table outlines the rewards that are currently being offered and the number of points required to earn them. Your reputation points will remain associated with your profile even if you choose to redeem them. Redeem your points ยป
