Jordin Sparks Shows Off a Sleek New Figure on SHAPE!

Superstar American Idol alum Jordin Sparks set the twitterverse abuzz last summer when she posted a photo of herself in a bikini, revealing a slimmed-down figure and the beginnings of a six-pack. Now, a year later and 50 pounds lighter, Sparks shows off her sizzling new silhouette on the cover of SHAPE magazine and opens up about the details of her weight loss.

In an exclusive interview with SHAPE, Sparks says that she experienced a wake-up call at age 21, realizing that even though she was in the prime of her life, she was sick, constantly fatigued, had walking pneumonia, and didn't feel healthy at all.

"I just wanted to be healthy," she says. "I remember thinking, 'I'm in my prime. I should be happy and fit.' That was the moment I decided that changes needed to be made." Although it wasn't easy, the star started slowly by walking around her neighborhood until she felt comfortable enough to try hiking. After that, she joined a gym and took up Zumba and overhauled her diet. Now the star says she's never felt sexier!
