TV ratings: 'Rookie Blue' finale rises Thursday while NBC gets strong DNC ratings

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012A Thursday edition of "America's Got Talent" was off from its usual ratings, but NBC got pretty solid numbers from two hours of Democratic National Convention coverage to lead the night. "Big Brother" was also off a bit for CBS, but the season finale of "Rookie Blue" finished on a high note for ABC.
NBC averaged 7.2 million viewers and a 4.6 rating/7 share in households for the night, beating second-place CBS (5.3 million, 3.3/5) by close to 2 million viewers. ABC (4.3 million, 2.8/4) came in third. FOX was a fairly distant fourth with 1.8 million viewers and a 1.2/2, and The CW (709,000, 0.5/1) trailed.
NBC also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.0 rating, topping CBS' 1.6. ABC was the only other network to break the 1.0 mark, finishing with a 1.1. FOX drew a 0.7 and The CW a 0.3.
