2 February 2012: AAAS/Science collaborates with three highly regarded organizations to offer prizes that reward the research of scientists. All awards
are presented at the AAAS Annual Meeting immediately following the award year.
GE & Science Prize for Young Life Scientists
The GE & Science Prize for Young Life Scientists recognizes and rewards outstanding Ph.D. graduate students from around the
world in their work within the field of molecular biology. The grand prize is US$25,000 and regional prizes are for US$5,000
each.

Eppendorf & Science Prize for Neurobiology
This prize acknowledges the increasingly active and important role of neurobiology in advancing our understanding of the brain
and nervous system. The winner of this international prize is awarded US $25,000 and publication of her or his essay in
Science.

Newcomb Cleveland Prize
The Association's oldest award, the AAAS Newcomb Cleveland Prize, supported by Affymetrix, was established in 1923 with funds
donated by Newcomb Cleveland of New York City and was originally called the AAAS Thousand Dollar Prize. It is now known as
the AAAS Newcomb Cleveland Prize, and its value has been raised to US$25,000. The winner also receives a bronze medal, complimentary
registration, and reimbursement for reasonable travel and hotel expenses to attend the AAAS Annual Meeting.
