Speakers
Talks are great, at PyConUK we open the floor to invite some of the greatest minds in the Python community to come and share with us the awesome projects they're involved with on a daily basis.
We have talks that are designed to be at a mix of levels, from first steps with Python to Core Python development, not to mention presentations from exciting Python-related projects - there will certainly be a talk you love, whatever your interests!
We'll soon be posting a list of talks, and then schedule of what's on when. This will help you plan to get the most from the conference. Until then, we invite you to submit your own talk. We'll be running parallel topics as threads throughout the conference, and when you have a spare slot, check out the two other types of event we have below.
The problem most people have is trying to be in three talks at once - they're just that good!
Sprints
This will change everything… We're taking the much-loved sprints concept and shaking it up this year, and we think you're gonna love it! Sprints are a great opportunity to help out with many of the best Python projects out there, and this year they're even better. Instead of sprints being an 'overtime' feature after the 'main' conference we're making them an integral part of the whole conference. It gets better, the teams running the sprints will be doing introductory talks on the first day. So you can come along, learn about a project and how it works, then gain invaluable experience by working hands-on the live project with its creators.
Often people mistake Sprints as being an elite-only feature, but nothing could be further from the truth, if you're new to Python what better way to learn than to explore serious real world projects with seasoned developers, there is a way that everyone can contribute - we promise!
For the smart snakes out there, you know that working side-by-side with core developers will give you insights into code you just can't get anywhere else. This is mastery learning at its best.
