Daanish Foundation is a Public Charitable Trust registered at Panchkula, Haryana. It has its programmatic priorities in the states of Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and other states of India over these years. Daanish Foundation aims to facilitate the social change process through education, skill development and people’s participation.

The global trends and the situational analysis focus on population explosion, environmental degradation, increase in absolute poverty and jobless growth. These trends manifest themselves in the form of

  • A sluggish and stagnant economy that has nearly reached the point of saturation. Given the optimum usage patterns and lack of tapping resources more efficiently.
  • India and the north-west region abounds in natural wealth, however careless and exploitative usage is fast leading to the depletion and degradation of natural resources which in turn is seriously affecting the economic stability of the area.
  • At the same time a paradoxical feature that comes to the forefront focuses on the lack of usage/ exploration of other sources of resources.
  • There are still gross inequities against women, children and people of low caste. The health scenario of women and children is quite bleak. Interactions at the grassroots with people reflect a dismal health infrastructure facility and the absence of concerted efforts to promote alternate medicine further complicates the problem.

The programs of Foundation are evolved from the above mentioned core issues and gaps thereof.
