NetID / Password
The NetID is a unique identifier (username) and password that allows one access to many different systems within Cooperative Extension and eventually many systems within all of UW System.
A NetID is available to anyone in Cooperative Extension. For county-based faculty and staff the decision ultimately resides in the department head and/or district director. For campus-based faculty and staff the decision resides with your unit director or program leader.
County based faculty and staff should contact their district office to have
a NetID created. Campus based faculty and staff can contact their program
area office or the Technology Services Help Desk.
The NetID in UW-Extension is typically defined by your name in the format of firstname.lastname.
A primary use of the NetID is for email. Your Cooperative Extension email address is your.netid@ces.uwex.edu. For example jane.doe@ces.uwex.edu.
Another use of the NetID is to allow one to log into restricted access areas of the CES website. One such example is the Planning and Results system.
When accessing systems which require your NetID and NetPassword, a box will appear asking for a username and password. Every person has been assigned a NetId (your username) and a NetPassword (your password) for access to those systems.
Office support staff may get a net id/ email address.
Note: Remember your NetId and NetPassword since they will be used to access other on-line systems in the future.
Online forms have been created for those who have forgotten either his/her NetID/NetPassword or those who need a new NetID/email address.
