Classic Car Show Benefits Interface

Cypress Place Senior Living in Ventura hosted "A Taste of Cypress Classic Car Show and '50s Party" on Wednesday, August 22nd. The evening consisted of classic hot-rod cars, dance contests, a coronation of an event king and queen, a hula-hoop contest and many raffle prizes. Local disc jockey, Bruce Barrios served as the master of ceremonies and played some of the greatest hits of the 50's. Several local restaurants provided some of their establishment's favorite dishes to the attendees. The West Coast Derby Knockouts, a female roller-derby league based in Ventura, made an appearance by skating through the crowd to sell raffle tickets. All of the proceeds from the evening, over $2,300, were donated to Interface Children & Family Services.

A special thank you to Cypress Place for for hosting the Taste of Cypress Classic Car Show & 50's Party! We appreciate your desire to choose Interface Children & Family Services as your charity benefactor for this event! We appreciate your partnership and support to reach the communities of Ventura County!

Interface's Positive Parenting Program Staff from Camarillo and Thousand Oaks to Move to Moorpark

spacer

Over two years ago, Interface Children & Family Services was approached by the City of Moorpark to be tenants in a future Ruben Castro Human Services Center (RCHSC). Fast forward to today and Interface is just days away from occupying space in the newly finished center!

Interface is planning the final details now, but it looks like we will be moving our Positive Parenting Program staff from the Camarillo and Thousand Oaks offices to the RCHSC the week of September 3rd. Community members will also be able to access our many other services through theses staff as well. Interface is very excited to be included in this unique service center and we expect that this facility will be a tremendous accessible resource for residents in and around Moorpark.

Additionally, this center will serve as an important back up site for Interface's 2-1-1 call center activities in the event that our primary call center is unexpectedly out of commission. The other tenants at the center will also include Moorpark Pantry Plus (formerly called Moorpark Food Pantry), a ministry of Catholic Charities of Moorpark; First 5 of Ventura County; and the Ventura County Health Services Agency.

Part of the Interface strategic plan is to create a presence in multiple communities where we can deliver accessible, integrated services for the benefit of local residents. The opening of this center is a great step in that direction for us and an important additional Interface service site in the East County.

There will be a community open house on Saturday, September 29th from 10am to noon and our new and improved presence in Moorpark will be official! Hope you can join us as we christen this new venture with the Moorpark community.
