When is a video an "educational crutch?"
...Loudoun County (VA) School Board member Joseph Guzman (Sugarland Run) says some commercial movies, such as the Lion King, which he says was shown in a science class to illustrate the Circle of Life, and another Disney cartoon, Mulan, which he says was used in an AP world history class, cross the line from education to entertainment. Assistant Superintendent of Instruction Sharon Ackerman and her staff are looking into Guzmans suggestion that commercial movies are used as educational crutches.Posted by kswygert at February 24, 2006 07:49 AM
