Household Change in the United States
The number of households in the U.S. more than tripled between 1940 and 2010, from 35 million to 117 million. A household comprises all the people who occupy a single housing unit, regardless of their relationship to one another. This new Population Bulletin examines the dramatic changes in U.S. household structure in the last 70 years, and how households differ by important characteristics such as age, race and ethnicity, and education. Nutrition on the Rise
Malnutrition in mothers and children contributes to more than one of every three child deaths globally and can lead to irreversible damage to the brain and body. The costs to society are enormous. Although combating malnutrition remains a huge public health challenge, some developing countries are making impressive progress. PRB's presentation "Nutrition on the Rise"—a multimedia advocacy tool—shows how proven nutrition interventions can save lives, help children reach their full potential, and accelerate progress on key economic and development goals.

Combating Malnutrition With More Than Income Growth
Worldwide, malnutrition contributes to 2.6 million child deaths each year. While children living in poorer countries are more likely to be malnourished than children in wealthier countries, the proportion of children who are malnourished is not always associated with a country's economic status. |
