FlickrSLiDR

FlickrSLiDR allows you to easily embed the classic Flickr slideshows on your website or blog. All you need to do is enter the Flickr URL address of the user, photo set or group you would like to embed along with some options. You'll receive the HTML embed code in return.

FSViewr

FSViewr (short for Flickr set viewer), is a light-weight, easy to configure Flash environment for displaying images from a Flickr photo set on a separate website. Uses could include a personal portfolio or special presentation site with the ability to administer content on Flickr.

PHPFlickr (PHP Class)

phpFlickr is a class written by Dan Coulter in PHP4 to act as a wrapper for Flickr's API. Methods process the response XML and return a friendly array of data to make development simple and intuitive.

Aquarius Screensaver

Aquarius is an OpenGL based Windows screensaver that displays images, video and Web pages on a variety of moving objects. Many different media formats are supported including, most recently, images from the photo sharing Web site Flickr.

Background Switcher

John's Background Switcher periodically changes the background image on your computer (like every hour or every day). You can specify which pictures to choose from Flickr.

Chirpscreen

It's a screensaver that grabs content (photos and messages, etc.) from your friends, starting with Flickr and Facebook. We also grab public content from Flickr based on tags that you pick. We're currently Windows-only but will release the Mac version soon.

DisplayFusion

DisplayFusion is a free new application that can make your dual monitor (or triple monitor or more) life much, much easier! From allowing you to use a different wallpaper on each monitor, to integrating with Flickr for image searching, to providing hotkeys for managing your application windows.

This is a Shell Extension that creates a virtual drive around the Yahoo Flickr photo web-service. Flishr

Flishr is a Windows application which covers all your needs with Flickr. You can download in bulk, upload and search photos with just a few clicks. You can also create and add photos to your local collection and export it as an XML file. This way, you may browse hundreds of photos in a short time and select the photos you like and finally download in just a few seconds. Finally Flishr is Free to download and use.

Flump

flump is a simple application that allows your to download all of the public photos for a specific Flickr account.

Foldr Monitr

Automatically uploads any photos placed in a chosen directory on your computer to Flickr.

Kaleidoscope Screensaver

A kaleidoscopic screensaver which uses images from the squared circle Flickr group.

Loopy

Loopy is the desktop screensaver application that is looping and showing the pictures at random for good. The most imperactive key ingredient of this application is the integration between the flash technology and RSS, that is provided by Flickr.

My Photocaster

Nostalgia

Nostalgia allows you to search flickr remotely and create local sets from the photos you discover. It also supports local photo management and synchronizes to your flickr account, allowing you to update your online photos as well.

Photology

PicMe

PicMe is a tool for letting you easily see, view, share and enjoy your thousands of pictures. PicMe makes it easy to share a lifetime collection of photos quickly and securely with friends and family, right from your desktop.

PostItBoard

This application attempts to make good use of a non-standard interfaces to provide a rich UX (user experience). It takes a keyword(s), grabs images off of Flickr.com which match those keywords, and displays the photos on the cork board. The images can be moved around the cork board and additional layers of images can be added/removed. As you move your mouse over an image, information on that photo is displayed on the post-it note.

ScreenSvr

ScreenSvr! is a simple but fun screen saver for Windows PCs. The premise is simple -- ScreenSvr grabs photos from Flickr, based on your selection criteria, and displays them in a repeating slideshow as a screensaver.

Slickr

Flickr OpenGL library and screensaver built on .Net TAO library. Flickr screen saver that shows images by User - Favorites, Set, Tags, Contacts, Group, Everyone - Tags, Recent, Interestingness, Local files/directories.
After installing, to use Slickr, you must obtain an application key here: www.flickr.com/services/api/keys/ then go to the Control Panel, Display, Slickr, Settings, Key tab and paste the key and the secret into the specified fields.

WackyB Flickr Desktop Slideshow

It's a desktop slideshow with a difference, it allows you to keep working and using your PC while displaying subtle moving images over your screen. You can click through the images and they remain semi-transparent so you can continue to view the screen content beneath.

Mac applications

1001

"1001 is a desktop client to be used in conjunction with Flickr, the online photo-sharing website. 1001 not only uploads photos to your Flickr account, it notifies you anytime new photos from either your contacts, everyone, or your favorite tags are uploaded. 1001 allows you to step into the stream of photos passing through Flickr and to quickly see what's new at the moment. Just run the app in the background and if triggered, 1001 pops up a small unobtrusive window to notify you of new photos.

1001 comes with a Flickr screensaver that will incrementally display the latest image from Flickr. You must have run 1001 at least once to get the Flickr screensaver going. "

Desklickr

We all love Flickr right? And if you're anything like me, you probably change your Desktop image more than you change your underwear! Well thats where DeskLickr comes in, it's this tiny little tool that sits in your menu bar making sure your Desktop is as sexy as can be. DeskLickr grabs all its Desktop images from Flickr, while giving you all the options to grab photos from your profile, tag searches or even the DeskLickr group filled with hand selected Desktop goodness!

Flidget is a dashboard widget for tiger that allows you to upload your photos. The biggest advantage of Flidget over any uploading app is that it's there in a snap and does what you want it to do &emdash; upload in a snap.

PictureSync

Upload your images, with metadata, from iPhoto, iView MediaPro, and files with or without IPTC fields. Includes resizing and metadata options.

Linux Applications

Desktop Flickr Organiser for Gnome

Desktop Flickr Organizer is designed keeping ease and productivity in mind. The interface is inspired by all powerful Amarok music player, which recently helped me tag my entire 2,500 track strong music collection; and since then I've been wanting to have something similar for my photos collection as well. The result is a GUI based application, allowing you to do uploads, downloads and organizing, in both online and offline mode. Its very easy to run, because the package is executable. Flickr Upload for Gnomes Nautilus

A Nautilus script to integrate Flickr.com uploads with the Gnome file manager.

Flickrdownload

Allows you to download all of your photos and associated metadata from Flickr. It stores the metadata in some XML files. It uses some XSLT stylesheets to create HTML files so that you can have a local copy of your Flickr account.

FlickrUploadr

FlickrUploadr is a tool to upload your pictures to Flickr. There are some official tools for this task, but they aren't available on Linux, so I wrote my own.

jUploadr

A flickr uploader for Linux:

jUploadr is a cross-platform uploader for both linux and windows. It supports uploading photos to flickr, changing privacy settings, and editing all other properties of a photo (description, title, tags). To help with bulk uploading, you can edit several photos at once. see jUploadr's webpage (juploadr.sourceforge.net) for updates.

Nautilus Flickr Uploader

Another tool for Linux (Gnome + Nautilus): Nautilus Flickr Uploader.

Postr

Postr is a Flickr uploading tool for the GNOME desktop, which aims to be simple to use but exposing enough of Flickr to be useful. It isn't finished yet, but its a very capable uploader already.

Mobile Phone Applications

Biscuit Tin

Lets you view your Flickr images in a random, lovely way - by shaking your iPhone. The idea being that you shake a memory whenever you feel like it.

Bluepulse

A new third party mobile widget to make Flickr much easier to use from your phone. Looks excellent as long as your phone is compatible. Mine isn't :-(

Darkslide

A native application for the iPhone that lets you upload images (even geotagged) directly to Flickr.

Mickr

Client software for accessing the flickr photo communityfrom your mobile phone. It allows you to view photos in a very simple way. All images available on flickr can be searched interactively. A slideshow feature can be used as well. In addition, images can be saved on the phone.

ShoZu

Java-based Mobile app for taking and sharing your pics as easily as possible.

Spahk

View photographs from Flickr.com based on keywords (tags) or a random sampling of interesting photographs. Works on most Java-enabled phones with MIDP 2.0 support.

Waymarkr

A mobile phone app which tags and uploads your cameraphone pics straight to Flickr.

Zone tag

ZoneTag can automatically tag your photos with the location, based on the cell tower, in which they were taken. The location of the cell tower is not known until our user community updates the city, state, or zip code of their photos on Flickr. ZoneTag is then able to map the cell tower to the location. Now available for Motorola and Nokia.

Plugins/extensions

Big Screen Photos

This product is deployed as an addin that runs inside Windows Media Center (upcoming Vista version) and can also be run inside a browser (as it uses Microsoft WinFX technologies which can be run in a similar way to Macromedia Flash files). The UI is optimized for usage with a remote control (and TV or large display panel).

Exo Visualizer

A visualizer for iTunes under Mac OS. Flikr pics are used to created the visual effects on screen.

Fireflix

An extension for Firefox which allows you to upload pics to Flickr.

Flickengr

A plugin for Yahoo! Messenger 8.0 which displays photos from your Flickr contacts along the bottom of your Messenger.

Flickit (WordPress)

Flickit is a WordPress plugin that'll help you post photos to your weblog easily. Flickit gives you the ability to search through your own Flickr Photos and all public photos based on tags. Run a search for your own username, and pull up a list of your contacts and see their images, you can insert these images into your blog post.

Currently it only works with WordPress, but releases for Movable Type and Textpattern are coming soon.

Flickr Basic (Etomite)

Basic and simple flickr integration to Etomite CMS, shows public photos or favorite public photos.

FlickrExport is a plugin for iPhoto 4 which provides a direct export interface to Flickr.com.

Flickr Photosets is a Movable Type plugin that'll help you list your Flickr photo sets on your Movable Type blog.

Flickrfox (Firefox Extension)

Flickrpress (WordPress)

This script will get all of the photos uploaded to flickr by a specific user in the last 24 hours. It will then post the thumbnails to a Wordpress blog.

A Blojsom plugin used to retrieve image / image sets from Flickr.

iP2F

iP2F makes it extremely easy to upload your pictures from iPhoto 2 Flickr. Before uploading you can resize, rename, describe and tag your images with smart, Mail.app-style tokenfields - all directly from iPhoto. iP2F also lets you create photosets and add images to existing sets and pools.

Kubrickr (WordPress)

Since the release of WordPress 1.5 with Kubrick as the default theme, an awful lot of weblogs look the same. Owen Winkler has built an application that lets you use images from Flickr to replace that big blue blob header in your WordPress 1.5 Default theme.

Myflickr

MyFlickr is a flickr search engine to include in your website. show your flickr photos or allow search flickr pictures inside your own website.

PicLens (Safari)

A first-of-its-kind browser plug-in (safari only at present) that transforms the Flickr user's browser window into an immersive cinematic experience for viewing web images on Flickr. Macworld Online just hailed PicLens as "gorgeous" and "a great idea". With just one click, PicLens instantly makes images, albums, and even thumbnails come to life through its full-screen browser window. Firefox version coming soon.

Searchflickr

SearchFlickr is a complete website with a Flickr photos and images search tool. Create a new web site or add this feature to your existing one, SearchFlickr is easy to install and doesn't need data base and no need for a Flickr API key to work.

Slideoo

Slideoo.com (www.slideoo.com) is a simple and clean horizontal slideshow to display your photo (from Flickr) on any blog or website. We wanted to have a nice quick overview of our photos in our Wordpress blog so we just made it. Some people could use it also to present portfolio on their own website with a clean visualization.

Twaingle (TWAIN)

App plugin which uses the TWAIN interface to allow the insertion of photos direct from Flickr into an application of your choice.

Web Applications

'Color Fields' Color Picker

This widget finds photos from the group pool that match a color of your choice. Also available for Flickr Central and Squared Circle.

An interesting 2005

A web application showing the most interesting photos on flickr from 2005 in a slick flash interface.

BlackMagic

You can use blackmagic to view "on black" views of your photos it by pasting a small link into your photo's description or comments. This should give "On Black" type photo views but uses referer information to figure out the picture ID, so you don't have to craft a new URL for each picture.
