When Paper is too Good for Notes

Headline of the day might be awarded to MIT’s news office today. “Students fold under pressure” adorned their announcement of the winning entries of the 2006 juried Student Origami Competition. This follows on the heels of their subtitle for the contest's annoucement: Will you join the fold? The winning entries, including a beaver (is everything coming up beaver these days?), are now on display in the Wiesner Student Art Gallery in the Stratton Student Center on MIT’s campus. Bostonist recommends checking it out for yourself. Not only is it only a few short smoots over the river on Mass Ave there is also an Anna’s Taqueria on the first floor. We’re not sure if it we call it rolling or folding when wrapping up a burrito. Either way, the burritos pale in comparison to some of the folded works taking top prizes in the competition. Check out some images if you want to be impressed, trust us that they look even better in person.
