Anti-Piracy Weapon Unveiled
In a move to eliminate asset piracy, Styk Media Group (SMG) announced the official release of the Muzikstyk, a manufacturer protected 2.0 USB flash drive configured and programmed to handle music, video and other forms of digitally enabled content. Culminating several years of development, Muzikstyk content will be produced in a friendly "web based" html/css file format providing a seamless multi-media experience through virtually any operating system. Delivered in "Read Only" chipset with 440-bit encryption, Muzikstyk does not allow the consumer to copy, delete or over-write the content placed on the device unless enabled to do so by the provider. The closed system of delivery is what the industry has been seeking for asset protection, particularly from foreign piracy and product dumping of unauthorized products. Special downloads or files other than standard browser and players are not required to play the Muzikstyk. Additionally, Muzikstyk technology will work to replace CD's as the preferred choice in the user library by acting as a preservation force for the presentation of music, video and other content. Musicstyk technology is impervious to damaging scratches and coating blemishes found on CD's over the course of multiple playback, handling and time. SMG President Ian Hendrix, an advanced technologist and musician himself says, "We wanted to find a better way to offer media to the public that was not so easily damaged. Our charter was to develop a professional, reliable and cost effective way to offer this to the consumer and now we've created that deliverable." Muzikstyk is designed to include artist and label driven content and functionality with consumer and reseller sensibility. Albums or selected tracks of the artist, special photo's, video and bonus features such as downloadable ring tones and other digital material can be made available through the Muzikstyk. Music can be delivered in MP3, MP4 or other proprietary formats without sacrificing the integrity of sound quality regardless of playback system used. Retail and consumer directed packaging incorporates a wallet jewel case equal to existing compact disk cases allowing current use of Compact Disk shelves and racks for retail display and consumer storage. SMG will be distributing their first release from Los Angeles based independent recording labels Random Records, Inc. and Del Oro Music featuring their top independent break-out artists. Also on the horizon are the MovieStyk and GameStyk bringing full-protected functionality to providers of unique digital content over multiple digital platforms. SMG is also in working negotiation with manufactures for ancillary device conversion products and placement of 2.0 USB ports in auto and personal portable music players enabling the consumer to plug in the Muzikstyk and listen to the music on the go.
