My current focus is building web-based applications in Ruby on Rails to help smaller companies manage more of their paper-trail type work online. The application for my longest-running client (written in Ruby on Rails, and using MySQL for the datastore) manages customers, sales technician scheduling, quotes, purchase orders, invoicing, and minor inventory tracking.
Web Developer/Designer
Yahoo!
Public Company; 10,001+ employees; yhoo; Internet industry
July 1999 – February 2006 (6 years 8 months)
Helped design, develop, and maintain several large internal web applications.
Technologies and applications used: MS SQL Server, IIS, ASP, Perl, xHTML, CSS, Javascript, VBScript, VB 6
Creator
listsofbests.com
January 2003 – June 2005 (2 years 6 months)
I created Lists Of Bests as a simple service to track your consumption of many top 10/100 lists and critic lists of books, music, and film. The site was built with Perl connection to MySQL.
While I ran the site, it was featured in The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post, and several other publications.
I sold the site to the Robot Co-op in late 2005, who then took over running the site (after a major redesign) in the middle of 2006.

Project Manager
broadcast.com
July 1998 – July 1999 (1 year 1 month)
I produced webcasts (webinars, whatever) that broadcast.com put online, some live and some pre-recorded. At times I managed all aspects of the webcasts, from client management, web development, audience reporting, and support. Some of my clients at the time include IBM, Dell, Cisco, Amway, and many other Fortune 500 companies.
Webmaster / Web Developer
AudioNet
December 1995 – September 1997 (1 year 10 months)
I started as the first full-time web developer/webmaster/SQL admin for AudioNet.com. At the startup, I answered support emails, built the site's first dynamic pages together, put live audio & video broadcasts online, and just about everything else.
The web design group expanded with me managing the upkeep and design of the website.
