Past News and Updates Faculty and Staff Enhancement ProgramNurses are critical to how patients perceive their treatment during hospitalization and in other clinical care settings, and they make a significant difference in the lives of thousands of patients and their families every day. To date, the KU School of Nursing has graduated more than 8,000 students since its first class was accepted in 1905. The School takes its responsibility seriously in developing nursing care for the future at all levels of the profession.
Quick facts about the KU School of Nursing:
The KU School of Nursing is seeking re-accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. CCNE will be making a site visit to the School of Nursing on October 17-19, 2012. An autonomous arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, CCNE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to accredit undergraduate and graduate degree programs in nursing.
As part of this process, individuals connected to the School’s educational mission, including current students, alumnae, as well as KU Medical Center faculty and staff, are invited to submit comments about our educational programs, students, and graduates to CCNE. Provided to the site visitors only, these letters are confidential and are not shared with the School.
