Thrash Lab “Profiles” Molly Schiot – an artist embracing the Los Angeles lifestyle one road-trip, one surf, one homemade Kombucha at a time. Her imaginative, playful and whimsical style is revealed through her work as a director and her shining personality. You will adore her and her dog Maddy in our newest video.

We featured Molly’s animation series she did on Los Angeles with l.a.Eyeworks.
To see the sandwich people she animates come to life watch her most recent video project with Charlie White for his Music For Sleeping Children compilation (it’s amazing).

In this episode of Thrash Lab’s “Empty America” timelapse series, we take you to Washington, D.C. – the capitol of the United States of America. Visit landmarks like the Capitol Building, Jefferson Memorial and the White House without any security guards, without tourists. Enjoy the beautiful geographical layout and the iconic buildings without any distraction.

In this special video segment, director Ross Ching describes “the creative gap” and “the vision” as it relates to a filmmaker trying to execute their creative conception.

“how you imagine something when you are conceptualizing vs how it comes out once it reaches the screen, the difference in the middle is the creative gap”

“if you can get your imagination and your reality as close together as possible, you are going to be able to make some awesome videos”

Thrash Lab “Profiles” mixed medium painter and emerging Brooklyn based artist Devin Troy Strother in his Los Angeles studio, back in his hometown for his second solo exhibit at the Richard Heller Gallery. Devin’s artwork is a hybrid of many crafts – painting, sculpture, collage, paper dolls, some might even consider his work a diorama. A trademark in all his art is his delivery of in-your-face titles (ex: Black Gurrrl vs. White Gurrrl, “Fuck That Bitch.”), derived from an overheard conversation or a social taboo that sparked Devin’s creativity – he crafts a social experience using cut-out people and orchestrates a narrative. In this video Devin reveals how he develops his paintings, what makes his style so loud and so “American” and how he tells a story.

Check out a collection of Devin Troy Strother’s artwork we have featured.
