antiX 12 has been released

Anticapitalista announced that the final antiX-12 is available in Core, Base and Full versions. The full version features 5 windows managers, the LibreOffice suite, Iceweasel 10 for browsing the Net and Claws for email. XMMS is the default audio player. Give one of them a try!

MEPIS 11.0 is out!

Warren has announced the release of SimplyMEPIS 11.0. This new beauty is easy to install, easy to use, and easy to make your own. It's configured with a 2.6.36.4 kernel, the KDE 4.5.1 desktop, and many apps including LibreOffice 3.3.2, Firefox 4.0.1, VLC 1.1.3, Amarok 2.4.0, Kdenlive 0.7.9, etc. It can be obtained from a variety of sources, and help is available on this forum.

antiX-M11 released!

Anticapitalista announced that antiX-M11 has been finished and is available. The light and flexible system based on Debian Testing and SimplyMEPIS is now available in full, base and core versions. antiX is fast, and works on computers with as little as 64 MB RAM, though 128MB RAM is the recommended minimum; the 486 kernel version should work on AMD K5/k6. Downloads can be made from this site.

Second MEPIS 11 beta available

Warren announced the release of SimplyMEPIS 10.9.90 which solves many of the video problems of the past. Community contributions are having a signigicant impact. Post testing results on this thread, making sure to include hardware information as well. Still not designed for general or production use--but stay tuned!

And we're off and running!

OK everybody, the Forum has been moved to forum.mepiscommunity.org and seems to be working pretty well. Here are some ways to get yourself some help:

• Click on your User Control Panel and go through everything
• Consult the FAQs by clicking the link below the tabs
• Look at the thread "New Forum Comments" in the Site Help forum
• Consult the detailed phpBB User Guide on the Manuals tab

It will take us all a bit of getting used to, but this was definitely the right move to make!
