In a new venture that will bring the hit television series Battlestar Galactica to life on the screens of gamers everywhere, Syfy Games and Bigpoint have announced the first ever massively multiplayer online game based on the beloved property.

Battlestar Galactica Online is a tactical space combat and adventure game, where gamers can choose to play as cylons or humans. Set for release in late 2010, the game will be available exclusively on Syfy.com for the first 30 days after launch. Battlestar Galactica Online will create a new standard for web games, with beautiful 3D graphics and innovative game mechanics. Project: Syfy Action MMOG

In a first-of-its-kind partnership, Syfy is working with game developer Trion Worlds to develop a new science-fiction franchise to be simultaneously launched as a global television program on Syfy, and a massively multiplayer online action role-playing game from Trion. Syfy and Trion Worlds have been collaborating on the still untitled project since its inception to design the storyline, characters, and lore of the new franchise. The game and show will influence and depend upon each other, and will evolve together based on the actions of their shared community. Worldwide premiere date to be announced.

Project: Red Faction: Origins

Syfy and THQ Inc. announced a first-of-its-kind transmedia deal to debut Red Faction: Origins (working title), a two-hour live-action movie pilot scheduled to air in Spring 2011 on Syfy. The story of Red Faction: Origins follows the lineage of rebel hero Alec Mason and the Mason family, set during a period between the critically acclaimed Red Faction: Guerrilla video game and the highly anticipated Red Faction: Armageddon video game, which will debut that same month. The title will be jointly released under the Syfy Games and THQ brands.

The deal is part of a larger strategic alliance in which Syfy and THQ Inc. will co-create and publish original content across all major media platforms inspired by both THQ's award-winning gaming franchises and jointly developed new intellectual properties.
