The Responsible Researcher: Paths and Pitfalls
The 64-page booklet covers a number of ethical issues that have arisen since Honor in Science was first published in 1984. Among the issues discussed are grant pressures on professors and their effects on the mentoring process, academic/industrial conflicts of interest and undergraduates' early exposure to research and associated ethical issues. While Honor in Science was aimed primarily at graduate students, this new booklet is intended for a broader audience, including undergraduates, postdocs, junior faculty, senior faculty, deans and department chairs, government and industry managers, as well as researchers in government, industry and non-governmental organizations.

1993 Sigma Xi Forum Proceedings - Ethics, Values, and the Promise of Science
Together, over 450 participants in this forum developed more than 20 conclusions and recommendations for the scientific community on ethical issues, many of which placed the responsibility for improving the public image of science on scientists themselves. 2000 Sigma Xi Forum Proceedings - New Ethical Challenges in Science and Technology
As breathtaking scientific progress in the past several years has delivered, for example, the map of the human genome and a host of information security and privacy issues, the 2000 Sigma Xi Forum addressed a complex dimension of the societal implications of such developments, namely an array of new ethical challenges facing the science and technology enterprise.
