Rob Allen Big Room Internet

Rob Allen has been programming with PHP since 1999 and is a member of the PHP community. He is the lead author of Zend Framework in Action and is a contributor to Zend Framework, developing the Zend_Config component and acting as release manager for ZF 1.12. He also contributes QA testing for ZF2. Rob holds a Masters degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Birmingham in the UK and started out writing C++ Windows applications. He now concentrates solely on web-based applications in PHP. Rob is the Technical Director of Big Room Internet in the UK, focussing on the company's content management framework and future technologies.

Raghu Bala is a software industry veteran, with over 20 years of software/Internet industry experience. He has a mixture of deep technical knowledge and solid business acumen covering Internet businesses including search, advertising and lead generation. Founded 2 companies eventually acquired by public companies. He was a Director of Engineering at Yahoo, Infospace and was a Senior Management Consultant at Price Waterhouse. Author of books on Java and C++ for publishers such as Macmillan and McGraw-Hill. He has an MBA in Finance from Wharton, MS in Computer Science from RPI, and BS/BA in Computer Science and Math from SUNY Buffalo. He was also a Lecturer at Columbia University. Mr Bala is active in the start up arena and an advisor to several companies in the areas of technology, strategy, marketing, fund raising. He is also an industry expert and advised companies such as Goldman Sachs, McKinsey and several hedge funds in the area of technology related investments.
