HQ evacuated due to local bomb threat, support times may be longer than expected

Austin Police Department has advised us of a bomb threat to the office building WP Engine is located at in downtown Austin.

We have evacuated all members of staff – contingencies are in place involving other staff not on-site in Austin, however requests and calls to Technical Support may take longer to respond than we would like.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.

Amazon EC2 is back online. All WP Engine servers are running normally.

Hey Y’all, I’m glad to report that Amazon is fully back online. You should notice all your sites, as well as my.wpengine.com are fully back online. Thanks for your patience on this.

Again, here’s the status blog for Heroku’s platform, https://status.heroku.com/ as well as Amazon, status.aws.amazon.com/?t.

Your subreddits should be up and running again as well.

Amazon EC2 Currently Down: Affecting WP Engine, Heroku, Reddit, and others

It appears that Amazon EC2 is experiencing significant downtime in their North Virginia datacenter. This is affecting WP Engine as well as many other mission-critical sites including Heroku, AirBnb, foursquare, WP Engine, as well as the almighty Reddit.  Amazon is working to bring things back online ASAP, but this unfortunately means you can’t kill time in subreddits while they get things moving again.

TechCrunch has more information here: techcrunch.com/2012/10/22/aws-ec2-issues-in-north-virginia-affect-heroku-reddit-and-others-heroku-still-down/

We’ll provide updates as we have them. Thanks for your patience.
