When something is good then there will be a trickle-on affect as people spread the world, and Max Quick is no different. If you thought the first book was good, then you won’t be disappointed because this puppy is already shaping up to be an exciting read/listen. This book is a must-subscribe, but if you aren’t caught up then be sure to listen to the first book before you get to this one. And if you like it spread the news, buy a print copy, and if you are able to then donate.

Two Words to describe the Two Travelers:

    Simply. Amazing.

I’ve already read through the book, but I was equally excited when I learned that the podiobook was coming. I literally counted down to the days and the day it came it, the first thing I did was download these episodes.

So far – based on the podiobook performance and the bit that has been released – I have never listened to a better audio book. Mark Jeffrey’s skill in story telling doesn’t just leave the reader listening, but it has the reader using all of his five senses to paint a vivid and amazing picture.

The Two Travelers is a must-download for all of those podcast fans out there, and I’m eagerly awaiting the next episode! spacer

I’ve been waiting for this book since the end of Pocket… I only just realised it was available yesterday. Been listening to the podcasts which are admittedly FANTASTIC. I’m trying to get the book download but am having problem with the payment methods 0_0 which means I have to wait for the podcast installments.

I haven’t started this book yet, but I have a question for those who have; is the Casey character any better in this book?

When I heard about ‘Two Travelers’, I immediately listened to ‘The Pocket and the Pendant’ again to refresh myself with the world.

I loved it this time just as much as the first time, but I had forgotten just how infuriating the Casey character was.

When I was done with ‘The Pocket’ this time, my first thought was, “That was great!” My second thought was, “Man I hope Casey doesn’t make it to the sequel.”

Okay I really really don’t mean this to be a negative post. I loved ‘The Pocket’, but I I can’t take another 10 hours of intelligent and complex characters scraping and groveling for Princess Casey. I really want to start ‘Two Travelers’, but not if it’s going to be The Casey Show (part 2).

Can anyone help me out here?

    Josh –

Well … Casey is back, yes. I am sorry she was so infuriating in book one … I’ll admit, she had a lot of growing up to do during the time of the Pocket. That was her character arc. However, she has done it, and I think you’ll like her quite a bit more this time around, and especially so by the end of this book. In fact, the Casey storyline in ‘Travelers’ is my personal favorite. On behalf of Casey, I ask you to give her one more chance spacer

Well I just could not wait for the two travellers podcast to finish so I have purchased my very first audiobook for my iphone. The only trouble with this book is that it is very difficult to put down I was even reading this at work hiding my iphone between sheets of paper so that I looked busy.

I would walk home in the evenings with my head down still reading the book not paying any attention to cars or people around me.

Needless to say I LOVED this book; there is so much more going on and the book is FULL of SURPRISES, my imagination was running wild with some of the descriptions in the book. I dearly hope that there is a third book SOON. Come on Mark Pull thy finger out and give us more PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE

I’m sure that I’m in the minority here, but Max Quick: The Pocket and the Pendant set such a high standard that sadly the sequel is falling short for me. I’m 15 chapters into it and so far my impression is that there’s too much dialogue between characters and not enough storyline. The story is slow and not nearly as captivating as I had hoped. I’m going to finish the book, but can’t help but hope that it picks up in momentum soon.

I haven’t listened to today’s episode where the ‘secret of Arturo Gyp’ will be revealed, but I’m on the edge of my seat!

Also, I can’t be the only one to have noticed that ‘arturo gyp’ with its weird spelling actually anagrams to ‘purgatory’…

Great stuff, Mark! I got hooked from your interview with JC Hutchins, listened to the first book all the way through just in time for the Two Travelers to come out.

Is it me, or is episode 12 cut off?
it seems to stop mid sentence. I downloaded the file twice now, and both stop at the same point. both are 30mins49 long… seems to me to be a bit short

Ah never mind. That’s episode 13 that contained the rest. Bit weird to cut it off there. :S

The Max Quick series are absolutely gorgeous! Every time I think I know what will happen next, something totally different happens. Wonderful! Also, I love all the different characters and I think it’s great how every one of the travelers gets to play his/her own role in the story.
I was glad to see some of the mysteries from Book One explained in Book Two, even though some things are still quite blurry and even more mysteries have been presented.. I can hardly wait for the next book!

First off, if you haven’t read/listened to Max Quick book 1: the pocket and the pendant. Go and read/listen to it now, before you start with part 2. It will help understand the story that much better.

Part 2 features the heroes from part 1, but a bit older, a bit more mature, with more baggage.
The four heroes (Max, Ian, Casey and Sasha) witness mr. E. being harrassed by what looks like crows, they also find a picture of Ian and Max from New York 1912. They learn that Nuberians are building some sort of machine, and they need to stop it.
This story features two distinct story lines that in the end intersect in a wonderful way.

It is thrilling and gripping. Indeed Mark Jeffrey, the author, shows his craftsmanship as a true storyteller.

The podiobooks version has a few episodes that are cut in two, which may feel a bit weird, but luckily the whole book is finished, so there is no problem there spacer

    This is a must-listen to.
Technically it’s classified as a young adults novel, but I’d say that this story is fun for all ages.

I too can’t wait for part 3… 2009 can’t come Quick enough. spacer

The Max Quick Series is a wonderful way for me to get my kids to spend quality time with me and gives us something to talk about together. As many of you know. there aren’t many things that can bring a 13 year old girl, her 9 year old brother and there parents together! Bless you, Mark Jeffrey.

I cannot express enough how happy I am you’ve chosen to podcast the second book in this series. Like the first book, I’ve enjoyed this one immensely and am on my third read (now with my 9 year old son listening along). I love the cast of characters and the story always has me on wanting more. I highly recommend this series for both adults and children. I do not read paper novels as much as I used to due to issues with dyslexia, so I am so happy that more and more authors are podcasting them for free (as buying audiobooks is quite expensive if you “read” a lot). I also like that this is a story both my son and I can enjoy. It’s smart enough to keep adults engaged in the story as well as entertaining enough to keep the kids interested. Another wonderful book and we both look forward to the next book.

I thoroughly enjoyed Max Quick 1 which I listened to quite a while back. Just finished MQ 2 and have to say “Wow, brilliant thought provoking story. But also the performance by Mark is uncommonly great! After some thought I believe this pretty much my favorite on Podiobooks.com.

I can’t recommend this enough! I’m sure you’ll have fun in these worlds with these characters.
With luck we’ll see the third installment before too long. Thanks Mark.
