CityCamp Colorado 2012

spacer The 3rd Annual CityCamp Colorado unconference will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012, in the Atrium of the Wellington E. Webb Building of the City and County of Denver.

We will again bring together people like yourself to share ideas to enhance government transparency, citizen participation, and accountability, which will support more informed, healthy, livable communities.

We will also build on the success of the Code for Communities Hack-a-thon and other exciting developments in the tech and civic communities in Colorado.

Denver Startup Week and CityCamp Colorado

We are proud to be partnering with Denver Startup Week to host the social track breakfast. The breakfast will begin at 8:30 with food and networking. At 9, we will kick the day off right with coffee and inspiration with Ignite CityCamp Colorado. This, our third ignite, will celebrate ideas and innovations that are transforming our communities. We will have eight presenters provide thought fuel for our day. Ignite CityCamp Colorado has made every other camp one of a kind and this year will continue to raise the bar!

A Unique Venue Means a Unique Camp

The Webb Atrium is a wide open public space, which will make for an engaging and accessible camp. We will have a stage set-up all day and several spaces for breakouts and other activities. Because of the nature of the space, we will run two tracks: one with programed speakers, demos, and panels (on the main stage), and a second unconference track. We are still organizing the events of the day, but watch this page for updates or register for the event and we will update you periodically.

About CityCamp Colorado

CityCamp Colorado will bring together people like yourself to share ideas to improve local government. CityCamp is an unconference focused on the participants sharing insights and experiences and taking action to bring about the significant, positive change our communities need. At an unconference, content is created and organized by participants. This format provides an excellent opportunity for an active, creative, open exchange geared toward action. Afterall, innovation is only possible when good ideas are shared and well executed.

CityCamp Colorado has four main goals:

  1. Bring together local government officials, municipal employees, experts, programmers, designers, citizens, and journalists to share perspectives and insights about the cities in which they live;
  2. Create and maintain patterns for using the Web to facilitate local government transparency and effective local governance;
  3. Foster communities of practice and advocacy on the role of the Web, mobile communication, online information, and open data in cities; and
  4. Create outcomes that participants will act upon after the event is over.
